Emma and Roy's Bury Court Barn Wedding

Emma and Roy’s Bury Court Barn Wedding

September 2022

Like many other couples Emma and Roy had originally booked their Surrey Wedding for July 2020 with a big bridal party and a large guest list. I had a lovely chat with Emma the beginning of 2020 where we had arranged a makeup trial for the spring before the wedding due to be held in July of 2020. As we know the world had other ideas. Emma and Roy decided to postpone until Sept 2022 so they could have the wedding of their dreams.

The original venue for 2020 was Bury Court Barn and after a venue change in-between this ended up being the actual venue for their dream wedding.

Bury Court Barn is a stunning wedding venue in the Surrey Countryside. Emma wanted a relaxed but flawless feel to her overall look with her hair down and wavy finished with a flower crown in her hair. Emma’s overall look complimented the stunning surroundings of the barns modern yet country feel.

I also had the pleasure of doing the bridals party’s makeup, Emma was happy for everyone to choose their own style and look of makeup for the day. I loved the fact that everyone wanted to go glamorous with some having a smoky eye and some more of a neutral eye but everyone going for a glam look.

Emma’s bridesmaid wanted to go for a classic wing with a little hint of shimmer on the lids I created this using the Maybelline studio lasting drama gel liner and then a bit of MAC glitter pressed onto the lid. I added some false lashes for a bit more definition. Her base is Tarte Shape Tape concealer in medium blended all over with a sponge and then set with Laura Mercier setting powder. I love to add a pop of colour on the cheeks and then a slight contour with Nars Laguna bronzer for the perfect cheekbones. Her lip was MAC Velvet Teddy with Charlotte Tillbury pillow Talk lip liner finish off the look.

Emma loved my style of makeup and was happy for me to almost have full reign ( which I love to do) I do think I do my best makeup looks when I can create a bespoke makeup look for the bride and use my skill to enhance the brides natural beauty. Every bride I talk to loves the style of skin I do. I guess I do it how I would like my makeup which is flawless but not to heavy and with a glow that enhances the brides bone structure and cheek bones. I love to blend products so they look seamless on the skin like the makeup is an extension of my brides beauty. Emma has brown eyes and really wanted her eyes to be the focus of her bridal makeup look.

I went for golds and warm browns to really accentuate Emma’s brown eyes. These colours are timeless and are perfect for brdes as they stand the test of time. I also added lashes and liner to give more definition to Emma’ eyes and look amazing not only in photos but also in real life. For the base Emma wanted it to be flawless but natural looking lots of highlight and a bronzy sun kissed look.
